As opposed to the Picasa service which provides an access to photos, the Google Books service does not allow users to download free electronic editions without digital copy protection and use them on other devices. How to Update Facebook Status From Google Plus?

Google plus is the newbie in the market of social networking site. It is gaining the popularity in high speed, surely a big threat to the Facebook, who is leading in the race of competition.

A new Web browser extension called Google+Facebook inserts Facebook's social network right into your Google+ stream view, accessible through a new "Facebook" button at the top of the page. Although fun, the extension does need some work, if we're being honest. Google+Facebook is pretty basic right now. All it does is display your News Feed within the Google Plus interface. But to like or comment on any item, you have to click the link "view this post on Facebook." There's also no access to other Facebook features like Games, Events, Profiles, Friend Requests or Photo Albums.

• It will ask for permission for accessing basic information from Facebook. Just allow it!!

Google2SRT : A tool that can download subtitles (Closed Captions - CC) from YouTube

You may have a video whose subtitles are really hard to find or if you have found them, they aren't available on your language, but there is an available version of the subtitles you are looking for on YouTube/Google Video. Or it's possible you like a video and it's only available through YouTube/Google Video and it's "not embedded" subtitled.

At first, you may think these are really very unusual situations, but certainly they are not. There are free distribution videos, like some documentaries and conferences, or official distributed videos that a TV channel publishes on his own YouTube space, which can be only found through YouTube/Google Video, and their subtitles are not embedded. Not embedding subtitles is an advantage for the provider. Provider only needs to upload a single video and he can offer to select one of many subtitles (or none of them). Some examples are Zeitgeist documentary, Randy Pausch last lecture: "Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" conference, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime, some Top Gear broadcast from the BBC or Google2SRT video demonstration itself.

Google2SRT is a tool that can download "not embedded" subtitles (Closed Captions - CC) from YouTube/Google Video videos (if those are present) and convert them to a standard format (SubRip - SRT) supported by most video players.

Even today, YouTube/Google Video "not embedded" subtitles (CC under their terms) can't be downloaded in a simple way. Even if those are downloaded, they aren't usable in any video player (software or home video player) because they are encoded in a Google's own format.

That's why Google2SRT let download and convert them to a recognized format by most video players (SRT) and that can be converted to another also well-known formats like SSA (SubStation Alpha) or SUB (MicroDVD) by using other software available on the Internet.

In brief: you can download, copy, modify, give and sell this software like you want and to who you want, as long as you distribute original source code and, if you modify or reuse Google2SRT source code, also the new source code and under the same conditions.

Another AdSense tutorial?

After the much criticized Google Cash Key, I have come to know about Google Cash 2. The webmaster is again from Bombay, India.

The package they are selling is for $30 and said to contain a CD plus the purchaser is given a MFA (made to AdSense) website for free.

The D is supposed to be a tutorial on how to use the Google system to make money from the Internet. But there is no mention of the summary of the content.

The copies of the cheques received from Google used as testimonial are paid out to one Krishnaveni Selvam where the Google Cash 2 says that it is owned by Raj R. I guess Krishnaveni Selvam is one the customer that purchased the CD.

So, what is Google Cash 1 then?

Clubbing Google Adsense with Google Search-what exactly will happen to our income? I can't understand the concept behind this.

I have Google search facility in my blog but it gets used hardly. Even if someone uses it, how that is supposed to contribute to my AdSense earnings?

I read this in my friend's blog:
"If website owners place Google search button in their websites, then it would allow them to work with more of the Google’s base of advertisers".

No, it doesn't make any sense to me. I intend to ask him what he means by that statement. I have a valid reason to seek his help as my AdSense earnings have hit a new low of late. There are impressions of course but the CTR is near zero.

Don't say that you always get high paying clicks from your PPC campaigns like Google AdSense. There are no exceptions to this fact that we get clicks worth less than 10 cents most of the time.

Novices will wonder where are all those high paying clicks; who get them; how?

Google AdSense revenue is a sort of enigma for us. Even self proclaimed AdSesne gurus can't teach the real nuances of getting higher income per click.

Well, let it stay as it is. I like the suspense. The daily AdSesne report gives some ideas about the CTR. Based on that, I did try to rewrite my blog post using a couple of keyword analysis tool. But it only increased the search engine ranking which also brought more number of visitors.

Have you tried the popular Keyword Elite tool that helps you find out how many searches each keyword gets? It is a sort of reveleation. It even lets you know what the Cost per Click is, the advertiser pays for that word. But there is no guarantee that keyword related advertisement will appear alongside your blog post.

There is no fool proof way to predict the ad that will pay the highest per click. So, if we just concentrate on increasing the number of visitors, we can see an increase in CTR.

Watching AdSesne earnings.

I am in India. The time difference between MountainView, California and Madras, India is nearly 12 hours.
When I open the Internet at 6.00 AM daily, I first log into my AdSesne account to see what is the earning.

At times I would be disappointed to see only a few cents; but when I check again at about 12.30 PM, I would see an increase in yesterday earnings. The 6 hours gap usually brings in more clicks. And I work almost these 6 hours. Don't you think it would be nice to see a report as soon as there is a jump in the AdSense earnings?

Here is a freeware from Singer's Creations and it is called SysSense. . It keeps your current Google AdSense information in the Windows system tray. A sound and/or system tray icon balloon can be configured to alert you when your statistics have changed.

Wonderful concept-eh?

After implementing video units of AdSense in a few of my blogs including this blog, I went about searching more details on how this integrating Youtube video clips through Google AdSense setup facility. I was in a hurry so I could not concentrate in sieving the exact information.

But, during my search, I stumbled onto a video tutorial by Darren Rowse on few basics of using AdSense-a couple of tips that was featured in the official AdSense blog.

Well, those 6 tips didn't throw much new insight to me; may be because I have read them very often else where in the Internet. But the point is driven by Darren which is we should keep experimenting on the placement of ads as well as the format of the ads. His opinion of the effectiveness between the large and small rectangle ad format is quite contrary to what I read at other places. But as he said, your experiments might reveal what works best for your site.

I think he is good at studying the reports by Google Analytics on which I draw blank. It will be an useful read for all.
